Ballet West: Demi-Soloist (2012-present)
Joshua Whitehead, a Portsmouth, VA native, is a demi-soloist with Ballet West, coming to the first company after two years with Ballet West II. He started dancing at age 18 and trained at Academy de Ballet and as a trainee at Ballet West Academy. Whitehead was featured on the CW reality show Breaking Pointe and choreographs in addition to dancing. His repertoire with the company includes Russian Soloist and the Nutcracker Prince in The Nutcracker and Spanish in Swan Lake, as well as roles in Balanchine’s Tarantella and Square Dance, Val Caniparoli’s The Lottery, and Adam Sklute’s Giselle.
